Black Adam’s Atom Smasher and Cyclone have complex histories

The Black Adam producer teased intricate stories for Atom Smasher and Cyclone, the JSA superheroes played by Noah Centineo and Quintessa Swindell.

Producer Hiram Garcia teased the origins of Atom Smasher and Cyclone in the upcoming Black adam movie. Dwayne Johnson’s turn as the eponymous ancient Egyptian anti-hero is long overdue in the DCEU. The former WWE superstar has been keen on playing the role for over a decade, though he was supposed to appear as a villain in the David F. Sandberg film. Shazam! film initially, as well as in an earlier version of The suicide squad. WB and DC Films, however, ultimately turned Johnson’s character into his own film.

After being relocated several times due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Black adam is set to arrive in theaters on July 29, 2022. Meanwhile, actors Noah Centineo and Quintessa Swindell play her younger members, Atom Smasher and Cyclone.

Now in a new interview with The Illuminerdi, Black adam Producer Hiram Garcia discussed how the superheroes of Swindell and Centineo will be incorporated into the film and the JSA. He said that in Black adam, Cyclone, and Atom Smasher will have their own intricate storylines, and these will influence how the character arcs play out in the film. But the characters’ intriguing backgrounds aren’t the only thing their stories will revolve around – Black adam will also chart new journeys for young superheroes, which will be fiery and humorous. “I think what’s funny about these two characters, and Noah and Quintessa both do a great job with, are these two characters, even though they’re the young members of the team and basically the young people. of organization, they have a complex flash of past too. While Cyclone and Atom Smasher are younger and lesser-known characters in DC lore, Garcia is confident he can establish them in the next film. In fact, he’s in awe of Swindell and Centineo’s amazing and joyful performances and he appreciates actors for really bringing their characters to life. As Garcia mentions, Cyclone and Atom Smasher aren’t just connected because they’re both younger members of the JSA – both come from the same place, where they’ve each been through a lot, and they’re both. also attached to certain parents who tend to share their super strengths.

As DC aficionados may know, Maxine Hunkel / Cyclone is the granddaughter of Red Tornado, while Albert Rothstein / Atom Smasher is the godson of The Golden Age Atom. Since both characters are legacy superheroes, it’s inevitable that Black adam touch on their past to help pull the characters out of the shadow of their ancestors. The same idea was also teased by Garcia, and it proves that Black adam will essentially serve as the origin story for Atom Smasher and Cyclone.
