The beginning of December brings the Chinese Embassy to its third week of community pantry activities in Barangay 82, Tondo, Manila. The care packages prepared for the week-long Community Pantry campaign, December 1-5, 2021, included food and medical supplies that will provide many families in Barangay with their daily needs, especially as the seasons approach. vacation.
Chinese Embassy Counselor Xie Yonghui expressed in his remarks how China and the Philippines continually help each other in Bayanihan’s spirit and sent his best wishes to residents this Christmas time.
“China and the Philippines are close neighbors with over a thousand years of friendly exchanges. Our exchanges are as frequent as those between parents … We rejoice together in the good times, and we help each other in the difficult times, thus forging a stronger sense of being a community of destiny, âsaid Xie.
âFaced with the invisible enemy, Covid-19, China and the Philippines also supported each other in a timely manner in the name of friendship, humanity and the spirit of Bayanihan,â he adds.
Barangay 82 captain-president Alex Espinosa expressed gratitude to the Chinese embassy and companies for choosing their residents as beneficiaries. He also said that the medical and food parcels will not only be a supply of basic necessities for many, but also a gift that will make families’ December holidays even happier.
Together with the Chinese Embassy, ââseveral Chinese companies and organizations have joined together to give back to the community, including the Chinese Enterprise Philippines Association Inc. (CEPA), China State Construction Engrg. Corp. Ltd, China Road and Bridge Philippines, PowerChina Philippines, ZTE Philippines Inc., Bank of China (Hongkong) Limited, Haier and Bayanihao. China Road and Bridge Philippines CEPA Vice President and General Manager Ren Xiaopeng shared his happiness to participate in the renewal ceremony which gives back to people and showcases the company’s increased commitment to social responsibility. ZTE Philippines Inc. CEO Wan Min also expressed his thanks for the opportunity to reach out to the people of the Philippines and intends to continue the good work in other areas in the future.
The Chinese Embassy hopes to see the total success of the community pantry campaign running through Dec. 5, with Day 1 sales and distribution kicking off a week-long activity full of generosity and of cheerfulness.
