(Bloomberg) – Jeff Katz, the former global head of commodities at JPMorgan Chase & Co, has joined hedge fund Millennium Management, people familiar with the matter said on Friday.

He joined Millennium as Global Head of Commodities Risk in August, said one of the people, who asked not to be named because the information was not public.
Katz joined JPMorgan in 2005 and left this summer, according to her LinkedIn profile. He was previously at Goldman Sachs Group Inc.
Kapil Bhatia, Global Head of Energy Trading at JPMorgan, will take on the role of Katz, with London-based Akesh Amin replacing Kapil, some people say.
Izzy Englander’s Millennium is a multi-strategy hedge fund company with more than $ 57 billion in assets under management, according to its website. Katz is joining a team of at least four other employees managing asset risk, including stocks and mortgage-backed securities, according to the company’s website. The fund also added fund managers to its Singapore and Dubai offices this year.
JPMorgan did not immediately comment. Millennium and Katz declined to comment.
