CHICAGO–(COMMERCIAL THREAD) –Let’s talk about Womxn Chicago present the closing celebration of the Taste of Chicago on-the-go weekend with “Let’s talk about picnic women in white” at Millennium Park on July 11, 2021, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. This collaboration of forty-strong women entrepreneurs in Chicago exemplifies the spirit of resilience and empowerment of women while celebrating Chicago’s diverse culinary offerings.
Join thousands of guests dressed in cool summer whites for this celebration which, in addition to gourmet picnic boxes and cocktails, includes entertainment by female performers, a soundtrack of powerful women, interviews with Let’s Talk Womxn restaurateurs and other speakers. This event is open to the public. Guests are encouraged to dress in white. Historically, women have worn white to show their feminine solidarity, but white also symbolizes summer, optimism, and coming together to move forward. Women can host this event, but all are invited to this party to celebrate and dine together as a city.
To participate, guests must pre-order a picnic and optional cocktails before July 8, 2021, on LetsTalkWomxn.com or on Uber Eats app, under Pick Up, search for Picnic. Let’s Talk Womxn will provide food and drink. Each gourmet picnic bag includes a delicious cereal salad, dips and chips, a main course and two desserts. Picnic bags will include varied offerings from the city’s top restaurateurs and chefs, including: Vermilion (Rohini Dey), Saigon Sisters (Marie Aregoni), Paramount / Eden Group (Jodi Fyfe), Demera (Tigist Reda), Frontera (Deann Bayless), Bistronomic (Laurence Noguier), The Dandy Crown (Julia Shell), Old Tacos (Ashley Ortiz), Tasty crust (Geri Hernandez), TeaGeschwendner (AgnÃ¨s Rapacz), Boneless Beach Club (MacKenzie DeVito), The moon (Korina & Samantha Sanchez), Teertsemasesottehg (Q Ibrahim), judge of the Pies (Maya-Camille Broussard), and Fairly cool ice cream (Dana Cree).
Chicago is joined on July 11 by Picnic in White with Let’s Talk Womxn Atlanta for an afternoon of food, drink and music at the Floataway CafÃ©. The Philadelphia Let’s Talk Womxn Picnic offers organized picnic baskets for sale. This unified celebration organized by fifty women entrepreneurs in three cities is a testament to the bond of Let’s Talk Womxn.
